Experimental videos
My video work is experimental and designed in most cases, as part of an installation. Here is a quick view of some of my recent installations, videos, video-installations ...

Dancing With The Moon
A Man attempts to catch the moon and dance with.
This installation piece, shown in Doual'Art/Douala/Cameroon 2003, Fri'Art/Fribourg/Switzerland 2003, and inKunstpalast Dusserldorf (Africa Remix) comprises a screen of mirrors that reflect the images on the walls of the room. The screen is formed with 9 double-face mirrors hanging ro each other and to the ceiling. A rotating fan smoothly shakes the screen thus sending fragments of the beamed image on the walls. The viewer becomes part of the picture.
Postcard
A girl carrying an alluminium pot on her head guides the viewer into a strange world.
Video shot in a village where my father grew up and where I used to spend my hollidays as a kid. But my gaze today is as exotic as anybody else's. And people here look at me both as someone from the "family" and a stranger  coming from the city!

The Voice on the Moon
Unusual things happenned when Armstrong went to the moon. This installation work attempts to share that untold story. You could be hearing voices.Five-channel video installation.
The banner is that of the United Chiefdom of Africa.
Avis sur Visage
Do you think this ma is likely to be the next president of France?. Well the artist, certainly, through digital manipulation of images can. This work was produced during the video workshop organised by Fondation blachere, in Joucas, South of France in Summer 2007> The work was seen from a window upstairs. Passers-by could raise their heads and wonder who this strange candidates they never heard about was. One-channel video installation, 2007

The Beautiful Beast
Initially, The Beautiful beast was a four-channel video installation, inspired by Fritz Lang's M. it has evolved to now be a single channel video installation. It comprises a screen, at floor level, made of a box, approximately 300 cm by 200 cm and 05cm height, filled with sesame seeds. The box on the outside is covered with a gold coloured metal. The image is projected from the ceiling and the viewer, litterally "looks down" on the personnage (in this case, the artist himself). While sounds from the movie point to the source of the work without explaining or directly discribing it.
Honey Moon
A man or is it a shadow appears and disappears in a sort of non space. Or is it the viewer projecting his/her reveries onto the screen?
Na Lingi Yo

Na Lingi Yo means " I Love You" in Lingala, the language spoken in Kinshasa, DRC. The work here is shown at the National Gallery, Kinshasa in January 2007, next to more "traditional" sculptures. Two ways of looking at Kinshasa. The video installation is made of a wooden box covered inside, with mirrors. A flat video monitor is placed at bottom, facing up. The video is showing images of innocent kids playing a poker-like game on the sidewalks. They use ruber ribbons and old coins with the image of former Head of state (they probably know very little about). the top of the box is covered with eazor wires (like the ones you see on many walls in the city. The viewer sees the image through this "barrier" as the mirrors create a whole world populated by the above-mentionned kids. The viewer's cautious gaze is somewhat halted by the dangerous obstacle, while the kids visibly, freely enjoy their game.

Sankofa River

An installation with 650 empty plastic bottles of mineral water, a hundred candles and sand.Dimension variable, 1997.
Here the work as shown in Doual'art, Douala/Cameroon, in 1997

Elections, UCA project.

View of work at Fri'Art, fribourg, Switzerland, 2003
Flags of the UCA (United Chiefdom of Africa) where posted over the city of Fribourg. Candidates are people who at one point shared my professional path. They are therefore people mre or less from the art world. Voters are the visitor's to the exhibition. Utopia and participation or involvement versus non participation, indiference...

Flag
This is the flag of the United Chiefdom of Africa.
